Rice cultivation is undergoing changes continuously owing to the problems it is facing at present. System of Rice Intensification (SRI) is a recently developed, which rests in the principles of single young seedlings, wider spacing, rotary weeding and shallow irrigation. Though there is yield advantage, the dependency for manual labourer remain unsolved or even it takes some additional man power since execution of the package rely on unskilled technicians i.e., efficiency of the labourers. Since the SRI method of cultivation is being promoted on larger scale, the development should focus on mechanization of SRI cultivation especially the transplanting operation since it is a tedious operation which has to be carried out systematically. Presently, for doing these operation skilled labours are essentially needed for which the farmers have to incur huge sum of money as compared to conventional methods.
