Oilseeds Research Station, Tindivanam is one of the lead centres for oilseeds research in India to undertake basic and strategic research.
It caters to the needs of the farmers in the North Eastern agro climatic zone of Tamil Nadu.
Among the varieties released from this centre, TMV 7 groundnut is popular among farmers.
The recently released variety TMV (Gn 13), a red kernel variety is gaining momentum among the farmers and has very good market value.
With respect to gingelly, TMV 3 is a cosmopolitan variety and TMV 6 is mostly suitable for irrigated condition.
